The beauty of Lapland, my bravery and experience as a Finn, are crystallized in the Snowy Owls made of white porcelain clay. I give melody to my life through clay.
Working and living in Posio, Finland, MIKI KIM is often inspired by a grove’s enriched hues that change every season, a bluish, crystalline lake, a mysterious aurora, and nature as clean and white as snow. Partial to winter, she also enjoys working in porcelain that is white like snow. She observes the everyday people of Posio who have a curt manner but are often bashful and tend to look innocent. Her works are projections of these residents, reflecting them onto the images of owls she likes.
